PRP® is made using NASA technology and consists of microscopic spheres of treated, oleophilic and hydrophobic beeswax that are nutritious to indigenous microbes. When PRP® is applied on an environmentally contaminant hydrocarbon, the nutrients stimulate and promote the rapid reproduction of naturally occurring (to that environment) microbes that use their own internal enzymes to breakdown petroleum into CO2 and water.
The product initially acts as a "sorbent" and will absorb twice its weight in hydrocarbons on contact. The oleophilic spheres encapsulate or bond with the absorbed hydrocarbon on contact. Thus, because PRP® floats, the "bound" hydrocarbon contaminant is kept on the surface, out of the water column. Microbic action or Bio-remediation begins soon after absorption.
PRP® will ultimately absorb and remediate more than 20 times its weight! Although it initially acts as an absorbent, the main function of PRP® is to augment natural bioremediation. Here's the best part: when PRP® is finished doing its work, there is nothing left to clean up!! The only by-products of the process are carbon dioxide and water. No residual anything! Just clean soil or water! PRP® is the ultimate remedy for petroleum spills, especially those that plague environmentally sensitive areas.
PRP® is completely natural, non-hazardous, nontoxic and biodegradable. It works on diesel fuel, motor oil, hydraulic oil, medium crude, heavy crude, kerosene and other petroleum products.
